BOB'S WILDLIFE REFUGE - REHAB AND AQUARIUM
Myself and different friends over the last twenty years have been saving, protecting and returning wildlife to the wild. The problem has been, that all of us were working out of our homes to save money. It's now time to expand and get out of our homes and into a much larger facility.
Myself, I have been keeping animals, all types since I was in elementary school. We each brought in a goldfish to take care of in class. At the end of the year the teacher was going to flush the fish. I said I'd take all of them, prior to asking my parents. They said ok, once I came home with them. From there it just spiked.
Create a non-profit, [503(C)3 while compiling a list of possible donators. Come up with a letter or letters to be emailed out or used for phone calls to the furture donators. Keep adding as I come across more people to donate. Start looking for possible locations that meet the requirements for all of the displays with room for expansion. See if there are any more changes or additions to the layouts and plans for the facility. Look at the township or city requirements for this type of facility. Add more items as needed.
Work on the legal aspects of having and keeping a variety of wildlife.
Mail, email or make phone calls to the potential donators to see if they are interested in helping out with any type of donation. Keep updating the planning stage as needed.
As soon as enough funds are accumilated for land, and or buildings, purchase one or both. Check purchased land or buildings against the layout drawing and make any changes or additions.
Begin interviews for needed personnel. Thin out the applications. Take the ones initially that have the expierience needed. Make arrangements with suppliers for the items needed prior to having the animals arrive.
Start construction on the new building(s). Make arrangements with other wildlife dealers to obtain certain species. Make arrangements with private breeders to obtain reptiles and other similar animals. Schedule all deliveries of animals to match their enclosure completions.
Begin to hire the needed personnel. These people will likely go on to train the people that come aboard later.
